Launched as a digital pacemaker (English: pacemaker) for out-of-sync supply chains, we today offer turnkey software products as a solution to two of the most common challenges in modern supply chain management: predicting future development along your supply chain and analyzing your CO₂ emissions based on machine learning.

ThyssenKrupp recognizes the increasing complexity of forecasting along global supply chains and is launching the “pacemaker” project in Lisbon. The goal: a pacemaker based on AI technology for out-of-sync supply chains.
Due to the immense potential of the technology, pacemaker will become its own limited liability company in 2020 as part of ThyssenKrupp Corporate Ventures.
tkMX DataFlowWorks GmbH officially manages the business. The name “pacemaker” is retained as a company name and in the logo.
After two years of development of the demand forecasting tool, the multi-award-winning machine learning startup Westphalia DataLab will be acquired in 2022 to further expand its machine learning capabilities.
With the successful migration of “WDL” and an increasing number of customers, the team also grows to over 40 pacemakers spread across the locations in Münster, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Lisbon.
In addition, a machine-learning-based carbon intelligence module will be added to the product portfolio to increase synergies from demand forecasting and increasing CSR requirements.
With almost 50 employees at 4 locations, pacemaker has doubled several times in less than 4 years.
Internationalization is being driven forward with the first businesses and partnerships in North America.
